Programme Activities

Programme activities in Eritrea aim at enhancing the National Food Information System (NFIS) by complementing activities of the project "Strengthening and Expansion of the National Food Information System." In this context, the EC-FAO Programme aims at improving agricultural statistics by:

	Installing and providing training in the use of the Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) Workstation.
	Introducing CountrySTAT to organize and disseminate statistical data and metadata on food and agriculture.
	Providing training in Food Security Analysis at the decentralized level.
	Providing training in Statistical Information for the Application of Climate Data.
	Organizing stakeholder meetings to make sure food security and analytical frameworks account for the interactions between short and long-term policies, strategies and programme's.
