Programme Activities
Activities in Ethiopia will complement the EC funded programme "Support to the Nutrition Programme and the Food Security Information System". Programme staff will work with the Ethiopian Government to improve food security information by:

Introducing CountrySTAT to organize and disseminate statistical data and metadata on food and agriculture. |

Installing and providing training in the use of the Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) Workstation. |
|
Supporting the national crop monitoring and forecasting system through the Crop Monitoring Box. |
|
Providing training in "Statistical Information for Application of Climate Data". |
|
Strengthening information systems and analysis frameworks related to land tenure. |
In addition, the Programme will support the Ethiopian Government in setting up a
platform for food security dialogue that cuts across sectors and makes sure short and long-term interventions are linked.
