Programme Activities
In Sudan, the EC-FAO Programme will support specific
institutional capacity building activities within the the much broader EC funded
SIFSIA (Sudan Institutional Capacity Programme: Food Security Information for Action). Specific activities include:

Installing the GIEWS workstation and giving training in its use. |
|
Setting up CountrySTAT to harmonize national data and metadata collections and make sure they are compatible with international databases. |
|
Providing technical support to the National Family Survey on Food Security, Health and Income. |
In order to better link food security analysis and policy making, the Programme will also:

Support the Food Security Thematic Group. |
|
Develop a a preliminary analytical framework for food security analysis and food security policy benchmarking in North and South Sudan. |
|
Support the development of National Programmes for Food Security in North and South Sudan (NPFS). |
|
Provide training in "Statistical Information for Application of Climate Data". |
