A Digital Dynamic Food Security Atlas for Improving Coordination and Decision-making
In collaboration with the DGSPA and other national institutions, the programme is supporting the development - and further updating - of a Dynamic Food Security Atlas. This Digital Atlas will allow national and international organizations to retrieve timely information, including maps and other spatial and non-spatial information, on sectors related to food security.
A national consultation workshop was held in February 2007 with the aim of setting priorities – in particular for selecting the preliminary map layers. In addition, existing sectoral information systems were closely examined to identify the best data sources for the layers.
Decision-makers will also receive training to ensure they can access and map cross sectoral data and information.
