Launch of the First Three Food Security E-learning Courses in French

The European Commission and the FAO are pleased to announce the launch of the first three Food Security e-learning courses in French. The courses are available for free on CD-Rom or online at:

The first three courses are :

1. Systèmes et réseaux d'information pour la sécurité alimentaire

Ce cours décrit les différents systèmes d'information liés à l'analyse de la sécurité alimentaire et fournit les connaissances nécessaires pour les évaluer.

2. Evaluation et analyse de l'état nutritionnel

Ce cours présente les concepts de base sur la malnutrition et décrit comment évaluer l'état nutritionnel en utilisant différentes méthodes et indicateurs en fonction du contexte.

3. Préparer un rapport sur la sécurité alimentaire

Ce cours a pour objectif celui d'améliorer les produits d'information pour en accroître l'impact et explique comment rédiger des rapports pertinents sur la sécurité alimentaire.

Target Audience

1) Mid-level managers, technical staff, field personnel who are involved in the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of food security information.

2) Planners, policy formulators and programme managers who are involved in monitoring progress in poverty reduction, and meeting food security goals and targets.

About the EC-FAO Programme

The EC-FAO Food Security Information for Action Programme provides 20 countries subject to chronic food insecurity, protracted crises or undergoing rapid economic transformation with the technical assistance and tools to obtain high-quality, timely food security information to formulate more effective anti-hunger policies.
