1. First Crop Monitoring and Forecasting Bulletins Published in Cambodia

The bulletins, aimed at decision-makers, analysts and technicians, include information on climatic conditions and a forecast of rice yield and production.

2. Food Deprivation Statistics : Papers from the Fourth International Conference on Agriculture Statistics (ICAS-4)

These papers, covering 12 countries, will soon be published in a book called "Deriving Food Security Statistics from National Household Budget Surveys. "

3. Summary Report: Food Insecurity Assessment in the Lao PDR

The recent report shows alarmingly high rates of malnutrition, especially among children and ethnic groups. FAO, through the EC-FAO Food Security Programme, is supporting the government in developing a National Nutrition Policy and a National Nutrition Strategy.

CountrySTAT Training in Rome (December 2007)

Participants from countries including Sudan, Malawi, Ethiopia and the West Bank and Gaza attended this advanced training workshop in Rome. CountrySTAT promotes easy access to and exchange of national and international food security statistics by harmonizing national data collections.
