	This tool describes the origins of FIVIMS and its purpose at national, global and international levels. It includes the basic questions about the hungry that FIVIMS addresses (Who, Where, How many, How severe, Why, and What can be done) and the characteristics of a national FIVIMS.

	Building on Existing Information Systems (pdf, 58 kb)
	This tool describes the process of taking stock of existing food security information systems and sources of information and data. A final picture of existing systems can then be compared to an integrated food security information framework with the characteristics of national FIVIMS for the country.
