Résumé


From the WWW to the Classroom A shorter version of the five-day training course “Producing Food Security Information Products that Result in Action” was presented as part of a two week course on “Food Security and Vulnerability Monitoring and Measurement”. The session used a lesson from the EC- FAO Programme's distance learning course “Reporting Food Security Information.”

The course was organized by the Africa Center for Food Security (ACFS) with financial and technical support from the Regional Vulnerability Assessment Committee members (including FAO).

N.B. The FAO-FIVIMS Programme financed the travel expenses of the food security analyst who conducted the session.

Location University of Kwazulu Natal (Pietermaritzburg campus), South Africa
Public cible

Participants included :
- masters students from the Kwazulu Natal University; and
- practitioners involved in food security and vulnerability assessment and analysis responsible for writing reports.

They came from Malawi, Uganda, Mozambique, Tanzania, DRC, South Africa and Ghana.

Objectifs

- Raise participants' awareness of the importance of producing FSIPs that support decision-making

- Strengthen participants' capacity to produce relevant, credible and accessible FSIPs
