Thirty-six professionals from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Republic of Moldova have now graduated from the “Food Security Assessment and Action” course and ten professionals from the  “Assessing the Impact of Development Programmes on Food Security” course. Eight of them have completed the two courses and successfully submitted a thesis, and will receive a Post-graduate Diploma in Food Security Programme Management. The courses were run  by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Department of Food Systems, Culture and Society, and are based on the materials prepared by FAO under a former EC-funded food security programme. The enrolment was sponsored by the “EC/FAO Programme on Information Systems to Improve Food Security Decision-Making in ENP East Area”.

Each course provides credits (European Credit Transfer System) that are fully transferable to the “UOC's Master's in Food, Society and International Food Governance”.

The “Improved Global Governance for Hunger Reduction” programme is funded by the European Union with additional resources provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The programme is managed by FAO and collaborates with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP)”
