The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) Global Steering Committee is organizing an IPC Fair combined with a Seminar Series, on 4 October 2013. The events are open to the public and will be held on 4th of October 2013 at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (Iran Room), Rome, Italy.

The all day exhibition fair will showcase IPC country experiences and the latest IPC technical developments, as well as displays and resource materials on training and IPC work. The Fair will provide the opportunity for people to learn more about the IPC and to meet with IPC Regional Coordinators and Trainers, and with the IPC Global Support Unit Team. Resource materials will be available, including technical booklets and training materials, information on the on-going IPC Certification Campaign, examples of IPC Maps and Communication Productions generated by countries and regions, as well as information on the IPC Global Governance Structure, IPC GSU and Regional/Country Partner Network.

This IPC Fair will be complemented by an afternoon IPC Seminar Series structured around presentations and Q&A sessions. Representatives from FAO, DFIDASEANSADC and PRESANCA-SICA will talk about the following topics:

  • Why is the IPC Useful to Decision Makers?
  • Perspectives from Regional Government Representatives
  • IPC Country Analysis – How is it done?
  • Experience from the Field and Country - Government Perspective
