The objective of this brief is to examine the challenges faced by countries and regional economic communities in implementing CAADP in a context of high and volatile food prices, and to draw policy recommendations for high level decision makers. It draws on the latest evidence to address the following questions:

ii. What are the main causes and key drivers?
iii. What are the implications for the welfare of consumers, incentives of producers, growth and stability of the economy?
iv. What are the challenges and options for policy makers?
