The Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) Workstation

The GIEWS Workstation is a web-based system for managing food security information such as:

  • GIS Map Layers
  • Satellite Images (rainfall, vegetation cover, etc.)
  • Environmental, economic, and demographic data
  • Crop calendars

It also promotes the use of standards which make it easier to exchange information globally.
