The EC-FAO Programme’s work on emergencies has focused on building food security in protracted crises situations. Concrete activities include:
- Contributing to the debate on protracted crises by publishing books, policy briefs, case studies and the State of Food Insecurity in the World, FAO’s annual report on hunger statistics.
- Developing a tool for measuring household resilience to food security emergencies
- Supporting the technical development and country level application of the IPC, a common scale used by major humanitarian players for determining the severity of food insecurity.
